Vortex dynamics in high-Tc superconductors with sparse weak columnar defects

چکیده
We have performed large-scale dynamical simulations on the current-driven three-dimensional frustrated anisotropic XY model with sparse weak columnar defects. Below the matching field, a moving Bose glass phase with superconducting coherence but without spatial order is observed at low temperatures. For very small columnar defect concentrations, a moving Bragg glass phase with both superconducting coherence and hexagonal Bragg peaks can be formed. Both the moving Bose glass and Bragg glass phases dynamically melt into a moving smectic via a first-order phase transition. It is suggested that the proliferation of dislocations mediates the dynamical melting in both cases.

Localized Flux Lines and the Bose Glass
Columnar defects provide effective pinning centers for magnetic flux lines in high–Tc superconductors. Utilizing a mapping of the statistical mechanics of directed lines to the quantum mechanics of two–dimensional bosons, one expects an entangled flux liquid phase at high temperatures, separated by a second–order localization transition from a low–temperature “Bose glass” phase with infinite ti...

متن کاملComparatively high in-field critical current in type-II superconductors from heterogeneous columnar pins: a molecular dynamics study
Theoretical work predicts that the strong dependence of Tc on pure shear strain within the a-b plane of optimally doped YBa2Cu3O7−δ results in heterogenous columnar pins of vortex lines about dislocation lines and about nano-columns inclusions aligned in parallel to the c axis. The critical current of a rigid vortex lattice driven by the Lorentz force in the presence of such clusters of pin/ant...
